Our
ESL lessons are designed to reinforce or teach a variety of grammar
structures and give students a chance to practice using their English
in pairs and groups. The target range is primarily aimed at lower
level students and can be used with adults or children.
To print our ESL Lessons, simply click the download icon next to the
lesson you need. The lesson will be downloaded to your hard disk
as an Adobe PDF file. In order to view and print the document you
will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.
If you don’t already have it you can download it free by clicking
here. To
print the ESL flashcard set that accompanies the lesson, follow the
same procedure.
There are 6 activities in each ESL lesson.
1. A Written Record
This page is designed to help students organize their notes, and
keep track of all the new grammar structures and words they will
be using in the tasks. After you’ve taught or reviewed the
new language, have your students write them below each image and
in the note space provided at the bottom of the page.
2. Pair Work
Each lesson includes a pair work activity to give students a chance
to practice their English. All of the pair work activities are controlled
tasks and most of them are information gaps. Students ask questions
and provide information to their partner in order to finish the
task.
3. Follow Up
After each pair work activity, there is always a written follow
up task to reinforce the language they’ve just been practicing.
The follow up task often has a series of questions about the pair
work, as well as fill-in-the-blank drills.
4. Listening
There is one listening task on every lesson. The teacher provides
information to the students, and they circle the correct answers
or fill in the blanks.
5. Group Activity
At the end of each lesson there is a group activity designed to
give students a less controlled chance to practice the structure
they’ve been studying. Group tasks are usually class surveys,
games, or dialogues.
6. Review and Fun
Our lesson plans all come with one page to use as homework or review
in class. These review sheets have various fun tasks, puzzles, and
games.
* Teachers Notes
On every document you’ll find a teacher’s page at
the end of the lesson. Some lesson plans come with complete instructions
on how to introduce and teach the target structures from the worksheets.
If the lesson plan you’re using does not include this section,
please see our “Introducing the Target Structure”
page on our site to get some ideas and tips.
** Flashcards
Every
ESL lesson plan comes with a complete set of flashcards. You
can download them from the Lesson section at esl-images.com.
